GPSTR recruits Graduate Primary Teachers for Classes 6–8 in Karnataka government schools through a competitive exam (CET) conducted by the Department of School Education. A valid TET is required to apply.

Educational qualification
- A degree with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/Category-1 and persons with disabilities) in the subject combination required for the teaching subject.
- A recognised teacher-training qualification — B.Ed or D.El.Ed.

- Keep your TET certificate valid and in hand — you cannot apply without it.
- Paper II is mostly descriptive: practise writing structured answers within the time limit.
