The Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) heads the administration of a Gram Panchayat under the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department. KPSC conducts the recruitment through a two-paper written exam and a Kannada language test.

Age limit

  • Minimum age: 18 years.
  • The usual upper limits under Karnataka recruitment rules are 35 years (General Merit), 38 years (Category 2A/2B/3A/3B) and 40 years (SC/ST/Category-1). Recent 2026 notifications have added a one-time relaxation, so always check the limit printed in the notification you are applying under.
